January 2011
Hello to all Utah Members,
As 2010 came to an end, we as
Utah law enforcement came together to honor four of our brothers and sister who were
taken from this life much too soon. Their sacrifice and lives
should never be forgotten. Josie Greathouse Fox, Franco Aguilar, Joshua Yazzie and Brian Harris should
be a constant reminder of the dangers of law enforcement and that there is a cost for protecting
freedom.
Like our brothers and sisters in law enforcement,
we should always remember the men and women in our military who also sacrifice to not only protect our freedom
but also the freedom of people around the world.
We not only live in a great nation, we also live
in a great state. From the beautiful Cache Valley to the awesome
landscape and scenery of Southern Utah and everything in-between. I
appreciate all of you who work so well together to keep it that way and I also know that you don’t get thanked
enough, so thank you!!!
There is one thing that the Executive Board would
like all active members to do this year and that is, reach out to retired and in-active members and see if we
can get them back to at least one re-trainer a year. We miss seeing
them. Our spring re-trainer will be in Moab April 17-19, 2011 at
the Red Cliffs Lodge and we would love to see as many of you there as we can.
As always, we would appreciate any feed back or
suggestions on classes. The Board Members would really like to know
what you want to see at these re-trainers.
I hope you all have a great New Year and remember
that reaching out to those in need is what makes Utah a great place to live. Thanks again for all that you do and hope to see you in
Moab.
